Tips & Tricks - Bow Making
Tips on finishes, what tools to use and advice from experienced Bowyer's

- The less mass you have on your tips, the less hand shock you will feel.

- When building a drying box for your staves, remember: warm air rises. If you are using a light bulb for heat, put the light bulb at the bottom of the box with vent holes in the top of the box. This creates a warm air flow as the heat rises - just what you want! Remember not to let the heat get above 100 degrees for safety sake.

- Paste wax your arrow shafts and you will get a smoother release , which translates to faster and more accurate.

- The longer you build your bow, the longer it will last. Longer bows shoot better. Build a long bow - you can always shorten it.
