GNAS Rounds

York, Hereford and the Bristol rounds are all organised by GNAS and the distances are all in yards, the York round is shot by gentlemen over 100,
80 and 60 yards you always shoot the furthest distance first, you also shoot more arrows at the furthest distance 6 dozen arrows (72), 4 dozen
arrows (48) and finally 2 dozen arrows (24) a total of 144 arrows.

The Hereford is traditionally a ladies round but gentlemen may shoot it. The distances are 80 yards, 60 yards and 50 yards, you shoot the same
number of arrows. The Bristol rounds are shot by juniors over a variety of different distance depending on their age. The scoring for these rounds as
with all GNAS outdoor rounds is Gold 9, Red 7, Blue 5, Black 3, White 1 and a maximum score of 1,296 points.

There are special tournaments organised called Rose Award Tournament at these tournaments archers can claim a badge if they score over
800, 900, 1,000, 1,100 and 1,200 points you can only claim one badge per score and cannot claim a badge for a score already shot i.e. you
cannot claim a 800 badge if you already have a 900 badge.

FITA

The FITA range of rounds are organised by GNAS for FITA the distances are in meters, the Gents FITA round is shot over 90, 70, 50 and 30
meters, the Ladies FITA is shot over 70, 60, 50, and 30 meters, junior archers shoot Metric 1 to 5. As with the GNAS rounds you shoot the
longest distance first, unlike GNAS you shoot the same number of arrows at each distance 3 dozen arrows (36) a total of 144 arrows.

Unlike GNAS rounds where you shoot the same face all day at FITA tournaments when it comes to the 50 and 30 meters the faces are
replaced with smaller 80cms faces. Scoring for these rounds is different from GNAS as each colour is divided into 2 scoring zones and so
Gold 10 & 9, Red 8 & 7, Blue 6 & 5, Black 4 & 3, White 2 & 1
. The maximum score for a FITA round is 1,440 points.

As with the rose award you can claim badges for shooting a FITA round 1,000, 1,100, 1,200, 1,300 unlike rose awards you can claim
FITA Stars
as they are known anywhere in the world.
